Attorney Cristine L. McBurney of McBurney Law Services, Inc. in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, has been serving clients just like you since 1952. Cristine is a graduate of Suffolk Law School (1983) and the University of California at Berkeley (1977). She has lectured and authored programs for the Rhode Island Bar Association, The Rhode Island Association for Justice (formerly known as the Rhode Island Trial Lawyers Association), and the Volunteer Lawyers program. In addition, she has been a sitting probate judge for the City of Pawtucket since 1991.
For over four decades, I have had the privilege for being a lawyer, dedicated to assisting individuals in their times of need. Throughout my journey, I have experienced the joy of helping couple navigate challenging divorce proceedings, as well as the honor of serving as a proud Pawtucket probate judge in Rhode Island. Today, I want to share my heartfelt reasons as to why I love being a lawyer, and how it has allowed me to positively impact the lives of countless individuals.

Witnessing the relief and gratitude on their faces when they find resolution is an incredibly rewarding experience.
3. The Honorable Role of a Probate Judge:
Serving as a Pawtucket probate judge for over 30 years is a tremendous honor that allows me to contribute to the legal system in a different capacity. Being entrusted with the responsibility of handling probate matters, such as wills, estates, and guardianships, allows me to ensure fairness and justice prevail in these crucial areas of law. It is a role that demands careful consideration, empathy, and a deep commitment to upholding the law while serving the best interests of the community.
2. Shaping the Future of Families:
By assisting individuals in their divorce cases, I am not only aiding them in resolving immediate conflicts but also helping them build a solid foundation for their future.
